2. Set Realistic Deadlines – and Often

So you’ve made that list. Great. That doesn’t mean you can kick back and relax. Start prioritizing. What needs to get done ASAP? (In other words, what will you get fired for if it isn’t done?)

Categorize from high to low priority helps you see what projects and tasks you can push off until later, and what needs to get done right now. Set real deadlines for these, and lots of them. Think of it like hitting the snooze button on your alarm clock. You give yourself some leeway time in case things don’t go according to plan. That way if you do miss one deadline, it’s not the end of the world.

Plus, the more deadlines you set, even for the smallest of tasks, the better you will feel when you meet them, and strike them off your list.
