Memorial Day is May 25th. Here is a poem honoring this impending National Holiday...
In 1915, Moina Michael penned a poem ("We Shall Keep the Faith") honoring the fallen soldiers remembered on Memorial Day:
"And now the Torch and Poppy red
We wear in honour of our dead.
Fear not that ye have died for naught;
We'll teach the lesson that ye wrought
In Flanders Fields."

I just wanted to share the following quote:
“There are no moral shortcuts in the game of business – or life. There are, basically, three kinds of people: the unsuccessful, the temporarily successful, and those who become and remain successful. The difference is character.” -Jon Huntsman, Chairman, Huntsman Chemical
Happy HR'ing!

Thank you for accepting my invitation and I look forward to networking with you soon. I appreciate the encouragement regarding school, but I swear it seems like it takes forever.

Oh, wow. It must not be very fun living there, with all the noise. How is it during the air show? We used to have terrible problems with asthma when that was on because of the cloud cover. I'll bet it's getting cold there now! I lived there the year that you had that really terrible freeze and all of the buses had to stop running. That was about five years ago. All of the pavement was covered in a really thick sheet of ice.

Hi, Debbie! Welcome! I used to live in Hillsboro, on NW Brookwood! How cool! I hope that you'll be joining some of our groups. Groups are a fun way to network, teach, learn and add to your list of friends. We have groups for every interest, both serious and fun. First of all, I would like to recommend joining HRPeople Site Updates, where Katie keeps us posted on all the latest improvements that she's always working so very hard to bring to the site! Working in Employee Relations, you might find such groups as Diversity Initiatives, Industrial Occupational Psychology, People Managers and Management Forum of interest. There are also fun groups, such as Music and Workplace Humour. Scroll down the list and join as many as you like! I'm looking forward to networking with you and to the valuable contributions that you'll be making to the discussions going on in the forums. Let me know if I can be of any assistance to you!
